Information

A traditional log cabin, from 1989, in the Finnish southwestern archipelago, on the island of Pettu, is easily accessible by ferry (5 minutes). Our location is 1-2½ hours journey from the largest cities in Southern Finland. You can reach us comfortably by car. This log cabin is an excellent place to retreat alone or with a friend from the huzzle and buzzle in the city. The peaceful surrounding
guarantees perfect conditions for creative work, distance working or just relaxing. Meri-Veikko also suits cyclists. There is a bicycle route around the island, which is part of a larger route from Hanko to Salo, further to Teijo, Särkisalo and Kemiö.

Meri-Veikko lies on the sea shore surrounded by beautiful pine trees, in the neighborhood of a bigger cottage, where two pensioners live. We understand well our customers´ need for privacy and we do not disturb you.

The sea is only 15 meters from the cottage. The shore is gravel and sand, shallow water. There is a row boat on the shore. There is no jetty and no ramp, but launching your own boat is possible in Lönnviken, c. 2 km away, on the same island. Lönnviken also has small outboard motors and a couple of slightly bigger boats to rent.

The second nearest neighbor to Meri-Veikko is a summer cottage, some 40 meters away, covered with trees. In the other direction there is an uninhabited shore c. 1 km and also some small uninhabited islands opposite Meri-Veikko. The whole island is beautiful forest, with an easy terrain to walk. The island is approximately 6 km long and 3 km wide, and sand roads circle around and
across it. In the cabin folder you will find some suggestions for easy walks on the island.

The cottage consists of a combined living room and kitchen, and a wood burning sauna, a shower and a toilet. The living room has a sofa-bed, 140 cm wide when opened. The wood-burning fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere and heats the room effectively. We also have a heat pump for heating/cooling.

The sauna has a wood-burning stove, and the bathroom has a shower and a freezing toilet and floor-heating.

Note! Dogs are allowed, but we hope you remember to inform us in advance.
An extra bed is available, in case you want to have separate beds.

The owner of the cottage is Veikko Koskipää, Storuddentie 83, 25640 Förby.
